A Georgia boy that had been missing for four years was found alive and stuck behind a false wall in an Atlanta suburban home. Five men, including the boy's father, were arrested on Sunday, USA Today reported.
Police were called to an Atlanta suburb around 11 p.m. on Friday to do a welfare check after the boy's mother called for help.
Using a smartphone, the boy reached out to his sister online, who then told their mother. The mother called the police and gave them an idea of the boy's location.
At first, investigators searched the home, but found nothing. The residents said they didn't know anything about the boy, Sgt. K.T. Hughes said.
But the officers got another call and went back to check the house quickly afterward.
The boy was able to call his mom and tell her that he was hidden behind a false wall in the house.
"While at the location during the second call, the victim was able to establish phone contact with his mother and she in turn passed on additional information to the officers on the scene," Hughes said. "The victim was found behind a false wall within the residence."
It's not yet known how long the boy was kept behind the wall or if it was only when visitors came over. He appeared to be in good health and was reunited with his mother, Yahoo News reported.
The boy had disappeared in 2010 while in Florida visiting his father. The father then told the boy's mother that he wouldn't be allowing him to leave. Clayton County Police said it's not clear who has custody of the boy.
