'Young and the Restless' Actor Corey Sligh Purposely Run Down and Beaten on Thanksgiving [VIDEO]

Corey Sligh, a model and actor who played a waiter and bartender on "The Young and the Restless," was hospitalized after being hit by a car and then beaten by two strangers on Thanksgiving Day, according to local CBS television station KCAL9.

The 27-year-old and his girlfriend, Alisa Berhorst, were reportedly on their way to deliver a Thanksgiving meal to a friend working a late shift at a West Hollywood Rite Aid when they witnessed two men driving recklessly in the store's parking lot.

Berhorst said her boyfriend called out the two men in a car for speeding in the parking lot and doing donuts. Unfortunately, the men ignored Sligh's request and instead hit the actor with their car and began beating him.

"They almost hit people in the parking lot," Berhorst explained to KCAL9 reporter Laurie Perez. "They were hitting curbs and Corey said, 'Please slow down or we're going to call the cops, just go home.'

"The guy walked up to him like, 'I'm in the mood to kill somebody and this is who it's going to be because he told me to be careful and slow down and go away.'"

Berhorst, who is also an actress, added, "The whole imagery of everything that happened last night is still very fresh and scary.

"I'm thankful he's okay. I'm thankful that we didn't get killed."

Sligh suffered multiple injuries including a broken arm, which required surgery, and is currently being treated at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, KCAL9 reported. He shared a black and white photo of him in his hospital bed, wearing a neck brace.

"Hey kids, went to feed some people last night who don't have blessed thanksgivings and along the way got struck by a drunk driver!" Sligh posted on Instagram. "Have a surgery to go and another couple days in the hospital but should be fine soon! Thankful to still be on this great planet! Love y'all!"

In a follow-up post, Sligh shared a snapshot of his story on The Hollywood Reporter Page, with the caption, "Well, I guess I can finally say 'I made the Hollywood Reporter!' lol. #thankful no matter what to be here! Hope to heal up in the next few weeks with Rehab and family! Thanks for all the love and I'll keep y'all posted! #Hollywoodreporter #Hollywood #Cali."

CBS reported that a witness tracked down the two suspects as they fled the scene but later crashed their car. The have been arrested and taken into custody. According to E! News, one of the suspects is now charged with felony assault.
