Netflix Announces ‘House Of Cards’ Premiere Date In Short Teaser Clip

Frank Underwood managed to reach the White House without one vote cast in his name ("Democracy is so overated"). His presidential reign will begin on Feb. 27 when Netflix premieres the third season of "House of Cards."

The original Netflix series tweeted a short teaser that shows President Underwood and First Lady Claire Underwood ascending the stairs onto Air Force One. The clip ends with the premiere date, Feb. 27, 2015, flashing onto the screen.

"House of Cards" ended season two with Frank standing behind the Resolute desk in the Oval Office. Kevin Spacey gives his trademark deep stare into the camera and then quickly pounds on the desk two times instead of the traditional two taps of his ring.

Netflix will premiere all 13 episodes at once as it did for the past two seasons. Spacey stars with Robin Wright, Michael Kelly, Michael Gill, Nathan Darrow, and Sakina Jaffrey in the series created by Beau Willimon.

"House of Cards" ushered in a slew of original programming for the online video streaming service including Emmy-award winning "Orange Is the New Black." The website will debut the new show "Marco Polo" on Dec. 12 and its other new series "Bloodline" will premiere in 2015.

Netflix has also partnered with Marvel TV to develop four new series based on the Marvel characters Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Case. Daredevil will premiere first in 2015.
