Marvel and Nextflix's 'Daredevil' Showrunner Answers Fan Queries on Twitter

With the premier of Marvel Studios and Netflix's "Daredevil" rapidly approaching, showrunner Steven S. DeKnight (Starz's "Spartacus") took to Twitter on Halloween to answer fan questions. During that session he confirmed that we won't see DD's most well-known nemesis, Bullseye, in season 1, among other choice details.

Now, DeKnight has used the Thanksgiving holiday as an opportunity to engage with the fan community for another Twitter Q&A, this time as he preps to helm the "Daredevil" finale.

Here is a rundown of what DeKnight revealed, followed by some of the key tweets:

  • While the black, ninja-like costume is reminiscent of Frank Miller and John Romita, Jr.'s influential "Man Without Fear"' miniseries, this incarnation of the superhero is not directly based on that source material. Rather, it's "just drawing inspiration" from it.
  • Though there's no official word on whether or not Daredevil will have any more seasons beyond the first, DeKnight said there "probably will be more."
  • We will not be seeing the other Netflix shows, such as Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, in 2015.
  • Fans should expect a lot of Easter Eggs when the full season premieres. Some will be obvious, others more obscure.
  • DeKnight side-steps the question of whether or not the Punisher could show up in Daredevil by saying he'd love to write and direct a Punisher movie.
  • Lastly, he stated that he'd like to include Wilbur Day (Stilt-Man) in the show if he could.
