Girls Guns And Glory On Rolling Stone Country’s Top 10 New Artists List

Newsflash: There are no girls in Girls Guns and Glory. Possibly the Boston rock band has those three goals in mind, though. Not sure. What is sure is that a very prolific touring and recording year for the group has been crowned by RollingStoneCountry.com featuring them in the "10 New Artists You Need to Know: Fall 2014" list.

The prestigious publication praises the Girls Guns and Glory sound as "Modern-day Buddy Holly plus Dwight Yoakam divided by the Mavericks," and declares their unique brand of music is for fans who like "Think-y, soulful lyrics paired with a beat you can dance to."

" Good Luck," the band's fifth studio album, is still going strong. Girls Guns and Glory has also recently released two limited-edition vinyl recordings. The "Good Luck" album is available on gold vinyl. Their "Mixed Messages" 7-inch vinyl features a recording with label mate and frequent touring partner Sarah Borges on the song "Get As Gone Can Get" and a B-side of a cover of Sonny & Cher's "Baby Don't Go."

"'Baby Don't Go' was chosen by Sarah," explains vocalist/guitarist Ward Hayden. "We were discussing putting some duets together to play on the road and getting ready for a tour we were doing together. She sent over 'Baby Don't Go' and the whole band immediately went crazy for the song. I was completely unfamiliar with it, but I loved the song, the story, and way the lyrics play off each other. Once we started playing it live and having so much fun with it, we decided we wanted to capture it on record."

The band - which also features Paul Dilley on electric and upright bass/piano, Josh Kiggans on drums/percussion, and Chris Hersch on lead guitar/banjo - has just wrapped a U.K. and European tour and began another U.S. trek on Nov. 13.
