Once a donor and public spokesperson for Temple University, comedian Bill Cosby now no longer has any affiliation with his alma mater besides his honorary undergraduate degree.
On Monday, Cosby announced that he is stepping down from his spot on the school's board of trustees.
"I have always been proud of my association with Temple University. I have always wanted to do what would be in the best interests of the university and its students. As a result, I have tendered my resignation from the Temple University Board of Trustees," the comedian said in a statement.
Temple University has confirmed Cosby's resignation.
"The Board of Trustees accepts Dr. Cosby's resignation from the board and thanks him for his service to the university."
Temple joins a handful of other colleges that have parted ways with the comedian amidst numerous sexual assault and rape allegations.
