The quarterback carousel for New York (2-9) continues Monday night. Jets coach Rex Ryan will start Geno Smith in place of Michael Vick, who completed just 7 of 19 passes for 76 yards in last Monday's 38-3 blowout against the Buffalo Bills. Smith began the season as the team's starter, but ineffective play and turnovers forced Ryan to give Vick the starting nod, which lasted all of three weeks before Ryan decided to go back to the second-year pro.

"You never want to feel like you can't be a part of the solution," Smith said, via Newsday. "Despite the record or where we're at right now, you want to always be out there with your teammates fighting and hoping to fix things. But I knew I'd have a shot and I knew it would come here, but I just didn't know when, and that was the hardest part. I'm just thankful for the opportunity and I look forward to it."

Smith has only seven passing touchdowns to go along with 10 interceptions this season, and the Jets' top-10 defense hasn't been enough to cover up for the offense's struggles.

Miami (6-5), meanwhile, is looking to bounce back from last week's close 39-36 loss at Denver. As was the story with Miami's games against Detroit and Green Bay, the Dolphins blew a late lead and were unable to come away with the "W."

"We have to find a way to win some of those games," said coach Joe Philbin, via ESPN. "We are going to be in some more of those games. That's just the way the NFL typically is."
