San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker may have suffered a hamstring injury while playing against the Miami Heat in Game 3 of the 2013 NBA Championship Tuesday night according to USA Today.
Parker hurt his right hamstring early in the second half. He's scheduled for a MRI and the results will determine if he is cleared to play in Game 4.
"I felt something in my hamstring. Hopefully it's nothing big, just cramping or got tight on me. It was a weird feeling," Parker said. "I just went to make sure with the doctor I was ok. they I played like two minuets in the fourth quarter. We were up big, (Spurs coach Gregg Popovich) didn't want to take any risks."
The All-Star finished the game with six points and eight assists.
With Parker injured and an important game underway, Popovich decided to add Gary Neal and Danny Green to the court. The move played off, big time. According to NBC Sports, Neal hit six three-pointers and Green hit seven. The duo combined for 51 points .
The Spurs were defeated in Game 2, 103-84, but returned to the court proving to be a well matched team for the Miami Heat. The Spurs defeated the Heat, 113-77 Tuesday night.
"I'm putting everything on my chest and on my shoulders. I've got to be better," Lebron James told reporters after the game. "It's that simple. My teammates are doing a great job, and I'm not doing my part. I've got to do more. I've got to do more both offensively and defensively."
Parker's injury is speculated to alter the Spurs' shot at a championship.
The basketball player is reportedly suing W.i.P Nightclub for an eye injury stemming from a brawl that took place in his attendance. According to TMZ, the lawsuit may be forfeited if Parker wins the 2013 NBA Championship.
