Luke Bryan’s Brother-In-Law Dies: Singer Cancels CMT Artists of the Year Special Performance, Heads To Georgia To Be With Family

The Thanksgiving weekend brought heartache to Luke Bryan's family. The country star's brother-in-law, Ben Lee Cheshire, passed away on Saturday.

The tragedy will prevent Bryan from performing at the CMT Artists of the Year Special tonight. The country star is in Georgia with his family and will officiate Cheshire's funeral service on Tuesday, according to ABC News Radio.

Cheshire, a resident of Leesburg, Ga. died at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. His cause of death was not revealed, according to the Albany Herald.

Cheshire, 46, was married to Bryan's sister, Kelly, who passed away on May 8, 2007 at the age of 39.

He owned Southland Appraisal Service, and was also actively involved with the Lee County Recreational Department.
