Most women won't let their partner see their face without makeup until they have been dating for a year, according to a new survey.
A survey was recently conducted of women between the ages of 18-30 about how long it takes for them to reveal their bare face to a new partner, reported Mail Online.
The research revealed that half of women will be ready to show their partner their bare body after six months, suggesting that women are more confident in their bodies than they are their skin. Fifty-four percent of women admitted to waiting an entire year before showing their partner their bare face.
Lara Peterson, 25, told Mail Online that she is one of the many women who waits a year to show a new partner her bare face. In fact, she admitted that she has never shown a boyfriend her bare face before their one-year-anniversary.
"My boyfriend didn't see me without makeup on until after a year," Peterson told Mail Online. "I haven't been confident about my skin since I was about 15 and started suffering with acne. Although I would describe myself as a confident person, without my war paint I start to feel anxious and it totally affects my personality - even now. From about the age of 17 I have never let a boyfriend see me without my makeup until at least a year down the line. I would panic that they wouldn't find me attractive without my flawless finish and was scared to see the look on their faces when they did see me au natural."
