Director Phil Coulson and his team will travel to Puerto Rico on tonight's episode of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." after locating the city depicted in the alien writings Coulson was constantly carving for much of this season. Those writings have reemerged in a new color-changing season two poster released by Marvel.
At the beginning of season two, Marvel and ABC released an "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." poster with a blackened S.H.I.E.L.D. emblem set against red background to signify the HYDRA takeover that occurred at the end of season one. Coulson and his team, including new member Lance Hunter, circled around the emblem, but the traitorous Grant Ward stood facing the opposite direction as everyone else.
In the new poster, the emblem flashes back to its original metallic grey, but also includes the alien writings. Coulson may be one step closer to restoring his beloved agency, but the alien grid still seems to play a significant role for the Marvel TV show and the cinematic universe at-large.
The S.H.I.E.L.D. agents have located the ancient city under the San Juan, Puerto Rico, but HYDRA holds the key (the obelisk) to unlock the temple inside that could set off a mass casualty event. While Coulson takes a small team to the Caribbean territory, Skye and May will try to rescue Raina before HYDRA leader Daniel Whitehall can scoop her up for his evil plan.
"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." airs on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on ABC.
