Ohio State (5-0) remains undefeated after handing James Madison a 73-56 defeat on Friday. Freshman guard D'Angelo Russell, a St. Louis native, scored 14 points in the victory and is averaging 18.0 points per game. Senior forward Sam Thompson, who's averaging 12.0 points per game, added 13.
"We feel we are at our best attacking," Thompson said, via ESPN. "We still feel we are at our best getting out of transition and getting some easy baskets. It's all about our mindset, how we attack, how we get out of transition, and how we get ourselves in rhythm."
Louisville is also undefeated, sitting with a 5-0 record after their 45-33 victory on Wednesday over Cleveland State. The Cardinals again received solid production from junior forward Montrezl Harrell, who scored 15 points and is now averaging 17.4 points and 8.8 rebounds per game.
Despite the five straight wins, coach Rick Pitino isn't entirely satisfied.
"Not enough assists. The assist-to-turnover ratio is not good," Pitino said Monday. "I don't like how we're passing the basketball. We've worked very hard this week on that."
Pitino also admitted the Buckeyes would be a "big challenge for us."
