A woman suffered an alleged assaulted by her husband when he hit her with a McChicken sandwich in Des Moines, Iowa, US News reported on Wednesday.
Marvin Hill III, 21, was arrested on Tuesday and was still in custody as of Wednesday afternoon on a domestic abuse and assault charge. There is no attorney listed for him in online records.
He allegedly threw the sandwich at her because he doesn't like them, according to the Des Moines Register. At first, Hill said it was his wife that assaulted him first.
At about 1 p.m., his wife woke him up with a McChicken in her hand. He said he became upset and threw the sandwich at her, picked up some of the bun, and threw it at her again.
Hill then followed his wife into the bathroom while she was cleaning herself off and began recording her. He shared the footage with police, which shows the wife knocking the cell phone out of Hill's hands.
When police arrived, she had mayonnaise on her face and shirt after Hill tried to smash the bun in her face, the wife said.
It is believed that Hill was trying to instigate his wife into knocking the phone out of her hand to make her appear aggressive. Police noted that her nose was swollen, and Hill's weapons permit has been taken away.
