Authorities are investigating the murder of an American mother, who was reportedly stabbed to death in a fight with a burqa-clad woman in the ladies restroom of the Boutik mall in Abu Dhabi Monday according to The Daily Mail.
The kindergarten teacher was cut with a knife in the lavatory, located near a branch of the Waltrose supermarket on the United Arab Emirates' island of Reem.
She received treatment at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City before dying of her injuries The Daily Mail reported. The woman, known only as ABR, had 11-year-old twin boys, and was reportedly arguing with another person.
Law enforcement officials are attempting to piece together why the attack happened, and put a face to the suspect who is believed to be a woman, The Daily Mail reported.
The person of interest was last seen wearing an abaya robe, black gloves, and a niqab veil.
"Police found the woman lying on the floor bleeding," Colonel Rashid Bourshid, the director of criminal investigation for the Abu Dhabi police department told The Daily Mail.
"She had serious wounds after being stabbed with a knife during a brawl with the attacker," Bourshid said. "No reason has been established yet as to why the woman was murdered. The attacker fled the scene after stabbing the woman."
The 37-year-old's ex-husband is reportedly returning from overseas to be with his sons.
