Has the mystery of the Bigfoot been solved? A man, armed with some fuzzy YouTube footage, definitely seems to think so.
Adam Bird, 31, has allegedly recorded both the physical appearance of the elusive creature as well as the sounds it was reportedly making, he told the UK Mirror. Although the video was captured back in June, it was released on YouTube on Tuesday.
After the clip was shared online, it sent an online community of Bigfoot hunters into a frenzy.
In June, Bird was tipped off by buddies about a nature reserve in Friskney that is a hotbed for sightings. Immediately, he started out in a patch of woodland in the British countryside after hearing stories of Sasquatch sightings in the area.
"We stayed there for a few hours that day and felt watched and followed the whole time," Bird, considered to be an authoritative voice on Bigfoot in the UK, told the paper.
According to one of his photos, a mysterious shadowy form appears to be lurking behind the trees in the woods, which Bird failed to notice until much later. "I took various photographs throughout the investigation and when I checked back through them I spotted the creepy picture ... It looks like a shadowy figure stood within the trees staring at us from afar," he said.
He also captured a photo of what he claims is a Bigfoot print in the dirt, but this one is less convincing than the photo of the shadowy creature.
However in the video, it seems clear that he and his colleague appear a little freaked by loud, moaning vocalizations that can be heard. "To be fair, the sounds are consistent with what Bigfoot hunters across the pond have told us about the beast's habits," according to Huffington Post.
"Cliff Barackman of Animal Planet's 'Finding Bigfoot' said last year that a Bigfoot will bang sticks against trees (called "knocking") and hoot and groan to communicate. Sounds similar to Barackman's description are featured in the video, but it's unclear whether the video is fabricated, and Bird couldn't be contacted by press time."
Meanwhile, Bird's fascination and obsession with Bigfoot began after his first encounter with the beast during a visit to Florida some years ago. Since then, he has co-founded a Bigfoot research organization in the UK and has reportedly worked with the Animal Planet show "Finding Bigfoot" for an upcoming episode, CNET reported.
