Golden State (15-2) has won all of their last 10 games heading into Thursday's contest. Their latest win came on Tuesday in a close 98-97 victory against the Orlando Magic, thanks to a go-ahead 3-pointer from Warriors star Stephen Curry in the waning seconds of the regulation.
"I wanted to go to my left down the middle and go to the basket and maybe get fouled or something, but he (Tobias Harris) kind of bit on the in-and-out move and I was able to get a rhythm shot in transition," Curry said, via ESPN. "... It's just kind of a rush that every player loves to experience. Especially at home when you're able to do that and get a huge win, you remember those moments."
Curry, who's averaging 23.7 points per game, finished Tuesday night with 22 points. Klay Thompson finished with 20 points, but his status for Thursday is uncertain due to a right quadriceps contusion.
New Orleans (8-8), meanwhile, snapped their three-game losing streak on Tuesday with a 112-104 win against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Pelicans forward Anthony Davis has continued to make a strong case for the league MVP award, finishing against Oklahoma City with 25 points and 10 rebounds, pushing his season averages to 24.9 points, 11.3 rebounds and 3.06 blocks per game.
"We did a great job of being disciplined on our game plane, knowing what guys were going to do and we just stayed with it for four quarters," said Davis.
