Oklahoma Teenager Accused Of Killing Family Sentenced To Prison For Different Crime

An Oklahoma teenager accused of murdering his family has received a prison sentence for a different crime, K For reported on Friday.

Alan Hruby, 19, fraudulently used his grandmother's name to open credit card accounts and go on a vacation in Europe. He pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to three years in prison.

He is also facing first degree murder charges after his father, mother and sister were shot to death inside their home in October.

Hruby confessed to killing his family and leaving their bodies in the home for four days until a house keeper discovered the grisly scene. Newspaper publisher and father John, 50, "Tinker," 48 and his sister Katherine, 17, were shot with his father's gun because Alan Hruby was obsessed with shopping and wanted access to his family's estate. The family was well known in the community.

The plan was created after the family cut Alan Hruby off financially to try to curb his spending habits. After the murder, he visited friend in Dallas to see a Texas-OU football game with friends and stayed at the Ritz-Carlton.

"He always had this creepy smile on his face, like he had everything figured out," family friend Sandy Bruce told People. "But that picture they're showing of him now, he looks so evil and so cold. And those eyes are the eyes of the devil."
