Philadelphia rapper Beanie Sigel was reportedly shot early Friday morning after an alternation in Pleasantville, New Jersey, Vibe reported.
Sigel, whose real name is Dwight Grant, was allegedly shot in the leg and stomach around 9:30 a.m. on Friday. Another man is said to have been injured in the shooting, but did not seek medical attention.
Details on what led to the shooting of the 40-year-old rapper have not been released, BET reported. He was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center to have surgery after the incident.
Sigel was just released from prison in August after a two-year stint for tax evasion, and moved to a halfway house in Philadelphia after his release. It's not yet known how he ended up in New Jersey.
