Baylor (10-1) heads into Saturday's contest on a four-game winning streak after handing Texas Tech a 48-46 loss last weekend. Although quarterback Bryce Petty finished the game on the sidelines because of a mild concussion, the fifth-year senior will be available for the conference title game.
"I'll be fine," he said Monday, via ESPN. "I think it's more exercise-induced kind of stuff, go through things, make sure everything's OK."
Coach Art Briles said the same thing.
"He was (Sunday) and was feeling pretty good. He actually felt pretty good at the end of the game the other day," he told reporters. "Of course he took a hard shot, clean shot. But I just saw him 10 minutes ago and he's fine. Smile on his face and determination in his heart."
Petty has thrown for 2,893 yards, 25 touchdowns and four rushing scores.
Kansas State (9-2), meanwhile, is on a two-game winning streak heading into the Big-12 title game. Their latest victory came last week in a 51-13 blowout of interstate rival Kansas. Now, with a chance to get the conference title, everything is on the line.
"It's going to be huge going down there, playing the best team in the Big 12, arguably," said Wildcats defensive end Ryan Mueller. "We're going to be ready to go. We're going to prepare like we've never prepared before. We know what's on the line."
