An accidental fire caused some drama on the "Transformers 4" set in Texas on Tuesday night. According to a report on E! News, the attic of the house in which the shoot was taking place caught fire. Actor Mark Wahlberg and director Michael Bay, who were among those present at the set, smelt the smoke initially and a crew member discovered the blaze. Wahlberg and Bay helped in the evacuation of the building, grabbing equipment and costumes as they rushed to safety.
Firefighters from Pflugerville and Austin were called in and managed to control the flames and extinguish them before the rest of the house could be damaged. One civilian was injured in the fire and taken to hospital.
The fire department ruled the cause as accidental and the house was released back to its owner. The attic of the 100-year-old house suffered some damage.
In April, Dallas News had reported that the fourth "Transformers" film will have some scenes shot in Texas, in the small towns of Lockhart, Taylor, Elgin and Pflugerville. The report revealed that Taylor and Lockhart would be made into a fictional town and would be the likely venue for a police chase and a car explosion. "Robots will chase down the good guys throughout Central Texas including in Elgin," added the article. Dallas News also disclosed that the bulk of the movie will be shot in China.
According to Bay's official website, principal photography for "Transformers 4" began on May 28. "As guests of the Navajo Nation, we took a convoy of brand new, re-envisioned and remodeled Autobots out for a spin down Highway 163 in Monument Valley near the border of Arizona and Utah," he wrote. He later revealed some of the lean, mean machines that will play a role in the movie, which included the Lamborghini Aventador, Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse and C7 Corvette Stingray.
Wahlberg was cast as Flynn Vincent for the fourth film in the franchise, replacing Shia LaBeouf. The movie, executive produced by Steven Spielberg, also stars Kelsey Grammer, Stanley Tucci and Nicola Peltz and will release in June 2014.
