New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady isn't sorry if he offended anybody with his language during Sunday's win against the San Diego Chargers. After cameras caught him again repeatedly dropping the F-bomb, Brady pointed his finger at CBS and NBC for choosing to air it.
Brady has a pretty clean-cut image to the public. Although he usually says and does all the right things, he's not sorry for swearing when he's in the middle of playing a football game.
"I wish I did have a better mouth out there at times, but there's nothing that quite expresses the way I feel like that word," Brady said Monday morning on WEEI, via NESN. "It is, it is (a great word), especially in the heat of the moment. ... Blame CBS and NBC for putting it on TV. Don't blame me.
"We're not choirboys, I know that. You bring us up to a certain level of intensity to the game, (your) job is to go out there and physically, emotionally, mentally dominate the game. You don't do that at church on Sunday. You've got to go to the football field for that."
Sunday marked the second time in as many weeks that cameras aired Brady angrily swearing after a play ended badly. New England still came away with the win, 23-14.
Brady also touched on another topic in his weekly interview: the rabid fan support on Sunday despite it being a road game.
"I ran out for pregame warmups and everyone was going crazy. I couldn't believe it," Brady said. "All the fans were right behind our bench. Just throughout the game, we would make big plays on either defense or offense, and the crowd would be just going crazy. The way our fans supported us and traveled out there to make that trip, it was pretty cool to see. I've never seen anything like that."
New England (10-3) sits atop the AFC standings. They host the Miami Dolphins on Sunday; kickoff is at 1:00 p.m. ET.
