Sarah Michelle Gellar is setting the record straight about her husband Freddie Prinze Jr.'s condition after having spinal surgery last month.
The 38-year-old "She's All That" actor spent his Thanksgiving holiday recovering from spine surgery and tweeting to his fans about his recovery, writing that he is "learning how to walk" again.
He posted several selfies on Twitter, including one showing him sporting a neck brace. The actor even compared re-learning how to walk to the process of "learning jiu-jitsu."
While attending the 4th annual Santa's Secret Workshop at the Andaz Hotel in West Hollywood on Saturday, Gellar said her husband is doing well, despite the dramatic response to his surgery.
"You mean 'learning how to walk'? I can't even," Gellar replied when asked about her husband's progress, according to People Magazine. "I'm not joking. Our mail woman - God bless her heart - was like, 'I prayed for you, Freddie, and it worked, you're walking.'"
"He's fine. He did have very serious surgery, there's no question, but his 'learning how to walk again' has been greatly exaggerated."
The couple, who have been married for 12 years, share five-year-old daughter Charlotte and two-year-old son Rocky. At the event, the former "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" opened up about celebrating the holidays with her children.
"They're getting to the age where they understand the holidays [aren't] just about getting presents, that it's so much about giving back and being appreciative for what they can do," she said.
"We packed up food for SOVA this year, and it made them understand that not all kids have Thanksgiving food. So it's been really special for me this year to merge my traditions which is gift giving and experiencing the holidays but also giving back."
