Pizza Hut in Australia has added a new pizza style to their menu, and it includes a Doritos chips crust, according to the Los Angeles Times reported.
According to a spokesperson for the Pizza Hut Australia marketing department, the pizza is "undeniably fun," Telegraph.co.uk reported. For now, the Doritos Crunchy Crust pizza is only available in Australia.
"As you bite into the crust you'll be blown away by the crunch - it's not only seriously loud, but delicious," she added, though others say differently.
Nick Evershed from The Guardian said the Doritos-encrusted pizza "falls firmly under the genre of extreme fast food."
Another Guardian reviewer said the pizza was so bad they wanted to find an Italian person and apologize for it.
"Most of the corn-chip fragments were charred black. They were the lucky ones. The rest were soaked through with cheese grease and congealed into a soggy mush," said Guardian reviewer Michael Safi.
The new Pizza Hut Doritos pizza has a mozzarella cheese-stuffed crust and nacho cheese Doritos all over the edges, according to the LA Times.
"Why Doritos? Well it is a globally loved brand and they have the best corn chips to deliver the ultimate crunch," Pizza Hut Australia head of marketing and innovation Fatima Syed said in a release, the LA Times reported. "We know from research how big an impact the crunch sound has on one's appetite."
Since an attempt to revamp their menu and finances, Pizza Hut has placed a couple of different, and "unique" flavors together, according to the LA Times.
Some of the other Pizza Hut flavors include a hot dog stuffed crust, and Sriracha drizzle on various new pizza flavors, like the Garden Fresh flat bread, the LA Times reported.
