Google finally made Android Studio 1.0, the first stable version of its Integrated Development Environment (IDE), available on Monday for Android developers.
Several improvements were made to the IDE software application, such as a better setup wizard that installs necessary Android SDK and sets up development environment settings, according to VentureBeat. The wizard also creates an optimized emulator that tests the user's app and comes with a set of code templates, and Android Studio also features wizards that let users start with new project templates or they can use Google code samples.
Based on Intellij IDEA, Android Studio provides developers with better code completion and code analysis.
Improvements include letting users manage string translations for all of their apps so they can study hard-coded strings in their projects, as well as letting users edit and preview Android layouts for different screen sizes, languages and API versions, VentureBeat reported.
The new performance analysis tool, Memory Monitor, shows the app's memory usage over time so users can figure out how to make their apps perform better.
Users will also be able to easily add Google Cloud Backends and Endpoints and Google Cloud Messaging to their apps.
Android Studio will receive more updates on four different release channels, which will be Stable, Beta, Dev and Canary, NDTV Gadgets reported.
Developers can download the Android Studio 1.0 now from the Android Developers website.
