Paul McCartney Releases New Song And Futuristic Hologram Video On Anniversary Of John Lennon’s Murder (WATCH)

Paul McCartney has written and recorded "Hope For the Future," a song for Activision's massively successful video game "Destiny." It's the first time the acclaimed singer-songwriter has ever written specifically for a game. The new single was released Dec. 8.

Roger Friedman of Showbiz411 made the connection to the song's release date and the shooting death of fellow Beatle John Lennon on Dec. 8, 1980.

Friedman, who was with Fox News for 10 years, commented, "Paul McCartney has a new song, written for a video game. It's released today. Tonight is the 34th anniversary of John Lennon's murder at the hands of repugnant mental case Mark David Chapman."

In the video for "Hope For the Future," McCartney appears "in the 28th-century game universe as a hologram--serenading various Guardians via projection from a Ghost AI assistant...And just as in the game, the song's grandeur perfectly matches the often jaw-dropping landscapes," Wired.com reported.
