Hyundai has decided to recall almost 43,000 luxury cars in order to fix an issue with their brake lights.
The issue with the lights is that they might fail to illuminate, which increases the risk of an accident. Only certain models of the 2009 to 2011 Genesis vehicles are covered in the recall, according to The Associated Press.
The recall includes Genesis cars made from April 30, 2008 to Nov. 21, 2010, as well as Equus models built from July 31, 2010, to Nov. 21, 2010.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration posted documents related to Hyundai's recall on Tuesday, saying it contacted the South Korean automaker about the issue in October after noticing complaints from customers, The AP reported. The agency has yet to receive reports of any crashes or injuries.
Dealers will fix the stop lamp switch circuit free of charge, and Hyundai plans to start letting owners know when the lights will be fixed sometime in the beginning of next year.
