Nissan has become the latest automaker to announce a recall; they're covering 470,000 cars and SUVs for a problem involving fuel leaks.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced the recall Tuesday, which covers 133,000 vehicles in the U.S., according to The New York Times.
Models covered in the recall include 2012-14 Nissan Juke crossovers, 2012-13 Infiniti M56 sedans, 2014-15 Infiniti Q70 sedans, 2012-13 Infiniti QX56 sport utility vehicles and 2014-15 Infiniti QX80 SUVs. Juke crossovers cover close to 105,000 of the total recalled vehicles.
The main issue with the recall described in the agency's documents is that a fuel pressure sensor may not have been tightened as much as it should have been in production, which can cause a gas leak or a fire, The Associated Press reported. Nissan said, however, that it has not received any reports about fires or injuries related to the issue.
Some of the same cars were recalled in 2012 in the U.S. for fuel leaks as well, but Nissan said those vehicles aren't covered in the latest recall if they were already fixed.
Other covered vehicles include the Serena, Tilda, X-Trail and Pulsar produced from November 2011 to November 2014, The Associated Press reported. These cars were from markets in Japan, North America, Europe, the Middle East, Latina America, China, Africa and other countries.
Dealers will tighten the sensors, and U.S. owners will be notified by mail in January.
