Indiana (7-1) heads to Louisville on a three-game winning streak after Saturday's win over Savannah State, 95-49. Although they've been hot recently, Hoosiers coach Tom Crean knows No. 4 Louisville will present one of their tougher challenges so far this season.
"They have as good of a pressure defense as I have seen to this point," Crean said, via ESPN. "We're going to have to really, really be great with the basketball and get through their press. .... For us, we're going to have to play out of our minds. We are going to have to play really, really well because they have great size and strength. (Louisville coach Rick Pitino) is very hard to prepare against, but you look forward to it because you know you are going to have to play extremely well against his teams."
Indiana's offense has flowed through freshman guard James Blackmon Jr., who's averaging 19.5 points and 5.1 rebounds per game this season.
"I think our team is really excited about playing on a big stage," said the Indiana native. "We have a lot of respect for Louisville, and a game like this will help us get ready for what we will see in the Big Ten."
Louisville might be the favorite to win, but Pitino isn't underestimating his opponent on a stage as big as Madison Square Garden.
"They're a much better shooting team than us, much better passing team than us," Pitino said. "They shoot it really well. We have to extend our defense and play much better. It'll be a hell of a game."
Louisville (7-0) is undefeated after an 82-57 blowout on Friday of FIU.
