Avril Lavigne is reportedly ill with an undisclosed illness and hasn't been seen in public since September, the Daily Mail reported. She has asked fans to pray for her.
Avril announced the news to her fans on Twitter on Sunday through a direct message with AvrilMusicChart. She was asked if she was working on any new music.
"I feel bad because I haven't been able to say anything to the fans to let them no [sic] why I've been absent," she wrote. "I'm not feeling well. I'm having some health issues. So please keep me in your prayers."
She hasn't publicly discussed her health battles or spoken about the Twitter message, but she thanked the account when it sent her well wishes publicly. The authenticity of the Twitter message has been confirmed.
The news comes at the same time there was speculation that the 30-year-old pop star's year-long marriage to Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger was hitting the skids, though the couple has laughed off the rumors. It has been confirmed that she is not pregnant, like some have said, Billboard reported.
