A man has been arrested in connection to a triple homicide at a Colorado home and another suspect is still at large, authorities told The Denver Post.
The first suspect, whose name has not been released, was arrested Wednesday evening several hours after three people were found shot to death in an Adams County home, the county sheriff's office said. Police encountered him outside of Golden city when he began driving in the opposite direction in the eastbound lane, the newspaper reported.
He was later arrested in Jefferson County driving a Jeep Wrangler, the same vehicle police said a person of interest was driving when the bodies were found at around 7 a.m.
Police also announced they are looking for a man named Furmen Lee Leyba, 30, in connection to the murders, although authorities have not specified why they believe he played a role in the killings.
Leyba has 26 arrests dating back to 2002, including charges for domestic violence, aggravated auto theft and drug offenses, The Denver Post reported. Police said he "should be considered dangerous," but it's unclear if he has a weapon.
Not many other details about the murders, including the names of the victims, have been released. Sheriffs received a call a little after 7 a.m. Wednesday from a "hysterical female" who reported a disturbance at the Cragmore Street home before hanging up.
Another person in the area said they heard a man and woman arguing before the shootings.
Commander Terrance O'Neill said the investigation will be a "long, meticulous search."
