SSR Agent Peggy Carter may have helped bring down HYDRA in World War II, but when the men return home from war, her efforts will go unnoticed. Howard Stark still respects and understands her talents and will entrust her to help clear his name when he falls under suspicion of traitorous activities.
In the "Agent Carter" series premiere, Stark (Dominic Cooper) reaches out to Peggy (Hayley Atwell) when he's framed for unleashing his deadliest weapons around the world and can only trust her. He needs her help retrieving all the weapons and lends his butler Edwin Jarvis to assist her, much to her displeasure at first.
But working with Stark carries serious consequences for Carter if she's caught. She could be marked a traitor and spend the rest of her life in prison or worse.
ABC will debut "Agent Carter" as a two-hour premiere on Tuesday, Jan. 6 at 9 p.m. The Marvel series will run as a seven-episode event during the winter hiatus for "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," which returns on March 3.
In episode two, Stark's deadliest weapon has fallen into enemy hands and only Agent Carter can recover it. She must wrap up her undercover mission before SSR Chief Roger Dooley (Shea Whigham) and Agent Jack Thompson (Chad Michael Murray) find out what she's doing.
Atwell and Cooper reprise their respective roles from Marvel's "Captain America: The First Avenger." The show's storyline picks up shortly after the movie's conclusion, but before the events seen in the Marvel One-Shot "Agent Carter."
