Chris Christie Slow Jams The News on 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon' [VIDEO]

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie slow jammed with Jimmy Fallon and The Roots on Wednesday night's live episode of "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon".

Fallon was performing his opening monologue when he mentioned the recent criticism Gov. Christie received when he made the sensitive decision to appoint Attorney General Jeffrey S. Chiesa to fill the late Senator Frank Lautenberg's seat in senate until a special election could take place later this fall.

"I was going to make a joke about this story, but I don't think it needs a joke, I think it needs to be slow jammed," Fallon said. "That's right! I want to slow jam this news and I'm not the only one!"

At that moment Gov. Christie emerged and joined Fallon on stage as the crowd applauded.

"Hi. I'm Chris Christie, governor of the state of the New Jersey," the politician told the audience. "And I, too, would like to slow jam the news."

The bit immediately dove into the controversial appointment and special election to which Fallon joked, "Oh yeah... Chris Christie's about to give Jersey a huge election... October 16th to be exact."

A singer from The Roots joined in on the fun expanding the joke to cover the recent NSA controversy.

"Chris Christie wants to hear what you have to say," the singer added. "So do the people at the NSA..."

Referring to Christie later in the musical joke as the "Love Gov." Fallon made a more predictable joke about the politician's weight when he sang, "When he sits around the House of Representatives, he really sits around the House of Representatives."

One of the best moments in the skit must have been when Fallon said, "Now look at you, soundin' all presidential like...you got somethin' you want to announce on the show right now?"

To which Christie responded: "C'mon Jimmy, do you really think I'd come on this show to announce a presidential run?"

Jimmy and the band replied: "Say whatever you want, but we all know...baby, you were born to run!"
