Lindsay Lohan Leaves Betty Ford Center, Heads To Malibu

Lindsay Lohan has left the Betty Ford treatment center and will be relocating to the Cliffside Rehab Center in Malibu, TMZ reports. Sources "familiar with the situation" said the transfer was approved by the judge, prosecutors and Lohan's lawyer.

According to the celebrity website, they all felt that Betty Ford "was better suited for a 30-day program, which Lohan has completed." She will be finishing out the remainder of her 90-day sentence at a rehab center in Malibu. TMZ reports that the actress just recently checked out of the center and is already getting settled in at her new place.

Lohan has been serving a 90-day rehab stint after crashing her Porsche in Santa Monica last summer while filming the movie "Liz & Dick." The actress showed up to the court hearing an hour late and pleaded no contest to lying to the cops and reckless driving. She avoided jail time by instead being sent to rehab "under lock and key," People magazine reports.

The former child star had a rough beginning at the center but eventually got her act together and started to "become a model patient," TMZ reports. Sources close to the actress told the website that she was attending all of her one-on-one counseling sessions and group sessions. The source also said she was beginning to open up to family and friends about some of her issues.

Not long after it was reported that Lohan was doing great at the center, it was revealed that her parents got into a nasty fight and cancelled a family counseling session they were supposed to have at Betty Ford.

"I didn't want a confrontation with Dina while Lindsay was in rehab," her father, Michael Lohan, told Radar Online about skipping out.

Reportedly the two parents had appeared on a new talk show called "The Test" where they were supposed to work things out. Things went horribly wrong after the topics of infidelity and their daughter's downward spiral came up. TMZ reports that sources told them that both parents accused each other of their problems and neither would take responsibility.

According to Newsday, Lohan already has plans after she leaves the center. Her rep confirmed to E! Online that she will be attending the Venice Film Festival in August to promote her new movie "The Canyons."
