Glenn Beck Loses Voice, Performs Show with Cue Cards (VIDEO)

For the majority of his career as a conservative talk show host Glenn Beck has been told to be quiet by people who disagree with his often controversial opinions. Finally Beck has obliged his critics and he won't be saying another word, at least not for a while. Beck's vocal chords are temporarily paralyzed, a condition that is repairable, but for now he is without words, according to The Huffington Post.

The condition seems to have appeared at the end of a very eventful week for Beck. Earlier in the week Beck called the first lady Michelle Obama a "monster" and "Lady Macbeth," he received an award from Talkers magazine and he gave an interview in which he express remorse for dividing people, according to Yahoo.

In an interview with the Associated Press Beck admitted that he regrets when his opinions divide people.

"For any role that I have played in dividing, I wish I can take them back," Beck said. "I don't wish I could take back the truth that was spoken but perhaps - not perhaps - many times I could have said it differently."

After Michelle Obama confronted LGBT activist Ellen Sturtz during a speech Beck said that the first lady was a "monster" because of the way she snapped right back into speech mode after the confrontation, according to the Huffington Post.

"She snaps," Beck said. "She just went right back into the speech. So this woman's a monster. She is Lady Macbeth. She is a frightening woman."

The biggest moment of Beck's week came on his show when he did a 10 minute long monologue without speaking. The talk show host who estimates that he has spoken somewhere around 89 million words while on air made up for his paralyzed vocal chords with cue card. The host looked directly at the camera with an exaggerated frown as he scrolled through a series of cards lamenting on life, reports the Huffington Post.

Of course, it wouldn't be Glenn Beck if things didn't get a little teary towards the end.

Beck has not said if he plans on doing more shows with only cue cards or when he will be able to have his vocal chords repaired.
