No. 14 Iowa State makes the short trip on Friday to play rivals Iowa. The Cyclones bounced back from their loss on Nov. 25 to Maryland with three straight wins, including Tuesday's 73-56 blowout of UMKC. Iowa State, however, will be playing the annual rivalry game without their second-leading scorer, guard Bryce Dejean-Jones.

The senior was arrested and charged with two misdemeanors Thursday morning after a noise complaint led to the discovery of marijuana inside his residence, leading to coach Fred Hoiberg handing down a one-game suspension.

"I've talked to numerous people in our department, with our administration. I had a very good talk with Bryce, from where the charges were this morning to where they are now," Hoiberg said, via ESPN. "We feel that the best move for Bryce, for our team is to suspend him ... this, ultimately, is my decision."

Although Iowa State will be without Dejean-Jones, the still have forward Georges Niang, who leads the team in scoring with 18.0 points per game, and a number of other specialists who can help the Cyclones (6-1) get their seventh win of the season.

"When you look at (Iowa State), it isn't only one guy," said Iowa coach Fran McCaffery. "It's multiple weapons. They have snipers, offensive rebounders, guys who can go off the dribble, and off isolation. They're playing fast, moving the ball and setting up shots for each other."

Unranked Iowa (8-2), meanwhile, head into Friday's contest looking for their seventh straight win. They're coming off a 67-44 blowout on Tuesday of Alcorn State and now hold a perfect 7-0 record at home.
