NFL: Adrian Peterson's Appeal Denied

The NFL announced Friday that Peterson's appeal of his suspension under violation of the league's personal conduct policy has been denied and the discipline has been affirmed, per ESPN.

Harold Henderson, the former NFL executive who heard Peterson's appeal last week in Washington, D.C., concluded that Peterson "has not demonstrated that the process and procedures surrounding his discipline were not fair and consistent." Wrote Henderson: "He was afforded all the protections and rights to which he is entitled, and I find no basis to vacate or reduce the discipline."

Henderson had been appointed by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell as an independent arbitrator to hear both Peterson and the league's cases and offer an impartial ruling.

Peterson has not played for the Minnesota Vikings since Week 1 after Goodell suspended him in the wake of allegations that he had physically assaulted his 4-year-old son.

Peterson is now expected to appeal the decision in federal court.
