Three inmates, two accused of murder, escaped from an Alabama jail on Saturday, but two have been caught after a search party of more than 100 authorities hunted the men down, KTIC Radio reported on Sunday.
The prisoners - Justin Gordon, Demarcus Woodard and Gemayel Culbert - all lived in the same jail cell at the Choctaw County Jail. A jailer heard screaming at about 2 a.m., and when he investigated the scene, one of the inmates was vomiting.
"One of the inmates was vomiting profusely," Sheriff Tom Abate said. "They were saying he's sick, dying, puking."
The jailer was attacked after entering the cell and the men took his keys and cell phone, the sheriff said. After he was subdued, Gordon allegedly ran off. Then the two remaining men wrapped a towel around the guard's face and dowsed it with Lysol. The incident caused him to be knocked unconscious and wasn't able to call 911 until he woke up.
Woodard, 23, and Culbert, 32, are accused of murder while Gorden, 23, is facing armed robbery, arson and burglary charges, KVOR reported. Culbert was caught at a family member's house on Sunday and Gordon was apprehended in a movie theater parking lot about an hour and a half away from the jail he escaped from.
"These individuals are extremely dangerous," Abate said. "If they are cornered, they will fight."
A bank's security video shows at least one of the men leaving in a waiting car.
