Military Veteran Suspect Fatally Shoots Five People in Pennsylvania, Barricades Himself Inside House (VIDEO)

A gunman who allegedly killed five people at three separate Montgomery County locations in the early hours of Monday is believed to be hiding inside a home in Pennsylvania, according to multiple media reports.

The unidentified suspect, who is believed to be a veteran, is now barricaded inside a home in Souderton, according to WPVI in Philadelphia. Police have set up a perimeter around the location and a SWAT team is in place, police authorities told Action News.

At 3:55 a.m. on Monday, the first shooting occurred on 100 block of Main Street in Lower Salford, with an unidentified woman being found dead, according to ABC.

Police responded to another call half an hour later, around 4:25 a.m., at the 100 block of West Fifth Street in Lansdale. At the scene, two more victims were discovered to have been fatally shot.

Another two bodies were also found at what is believed to be a residential property in Souderton. According to sources, all victims were shot at close-range.

Additionally, two children were allegedly taken hostage in Lower Salford during the shooting but are now reportedly safe.

The killings are believed to be connected, police said.

Meanwhile, authorities have allegedly found the suspect's vehicle at an undisclosed location.

Montgomery County is a suburb north of Philadelphia with a population of about 810,000.

The Souderton Area School District was operating under a shelter-in-place on Monday. Visitors were banned from the school until further notice, according to UKMailOnline.
