Award-winning Human Nature - the No. 1 pop vocal group in Australia - caught the attention of Motown superstar Smokey Robinson and singer-newscaster Robin Meade of the popular news network HLN.
Human Nature has scored 24 platinum awards, 18 Top 40 hits and 5 Top 10 hits in their native Australia. It was their million-selling Motown tribute, "Reach Out," that caught the ear of the legendary Smokey Robinson, who helped them launch their famed "Motown Show." The show has played for over 5 years in Las Vegas and, now with a multi-year residency at the Venetian Sands Showroom, they have played to sold-out crowds for the past two and a half years. Smokey is the presenter of their show.
The quartet is taking America by storm with their latest collaboration with singer and TV personality Robin Meade, the host of HLN's "Morning Express with Robin Meade," one of the top cable morning news show personalities in the United States. The group's holiday duet with Meade, "Sleigh Ride," has been gaining steady momentum through the past couple of weeks - currently sitting at No. 29 on the AC Radio Airplay Chart and holding a No.16 position on the Holiday Music Radio Airplay Chart, according to a press release.
"Sleigh Ride" has continued to get more airplay and station ads every week - just the latest in a quickly-growing list of successes for the group, which is comprised of brothers Andrew and Mike Tierney, Phil Burton and Toby Allen from Sydney, Australia.
"Like everyone, the holidays are a special time of year for us and we want to share that feeling," said Human Nature's Andrew Tierney. "We had so much fun recording our Christmas album that we thought we should share that fun for the Holidays. That's what the new show is all about: bringing the spirit of the season to you."
Their collaboration with Meade came about as a result of the vocal group wanting to add a voice to their new Christmas Album release who could be described as an "America's Sweetheart." With a warm and vibrant personality and charisma, Meade made perfect sense. Meade is a respected singer-songwriter in her own right, with a pair of albums charting on the Billboard Country Albums chart in 2011's "Brand New Day" and 2013's "Count On Me."
"After 20 years of helming the morning news, it still comes as a surprise to many people that I've been a vocalist longer than that! I relish this chance to join Human Nature for their Christmas show," Meade said. "If the experience is anything like our 'Sleigh Ride' duet on their new album, the energy for the audience is going to be combustible! Honored, and pumped!"
Robin is also appearing with the group during their new live stage show, "Christmas, Motown and More." The show will last for eleven days beginning Friday, Dec. 12 with a special 1 p.m. matinee show on Christmas Eve at the Sands Showroom at The Venetian Las Vegas.
With Christmas just around the corner, these four superlative vocalists are making their list and checking it twice for one of their most spirited album releases ever. Having become a successful pop group who honed their craft with yuletide tunes, it's fitting they've finally recorded their first Christmas album.
"Human Nature - The Christmas Album" is also accompanied by a portfolio of six music videos, including an extraordinary clay animation video of "White Christmas," which captures Human Nature's sentiment of the season with their own interpretation of the story. Their Christmas Album is available both as digital download and CD.
