Shortly after Slava Voynov was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, his wife - the victim of the altercation - came forward and said that she didn't want the Los Angeles Kings defenseman to be charged.
He eventually was anyways - a felony count of corporal injury to spouse with great bodily injury - and his preliminary hearing for the charges was held today.
The revelations offered by the responding officer during the hearing - live-tweeted by Los Angeles Times reporter Nathan Fenno and the Orange County Register's Rich Hammond - make Voynov's wife's decision to request that he not be charged seem both ludicrous and scary. (h/t to Deadspin)
