No. 2 Duke is undefeated with an 8-0 record after defeating Wisconsin almost two weeks ago, 80-70. The Blue Devils haven't played since that victory on Dec. 3, but coach Mike Krzyzewski doesn't appear to be worried about rust. In fact, the famed coach had nothing but praise for his squad.

"We're much better defensively," he said, via ESPN. "We're a very good defensive team right now but that's what they've practiced, (they've) really worked hard at it. ... We're really together, we have really good heart, we can play defense well, we take care of the ball well and we share it, we're unselfish. We're a good basketball team and they're a great group of guys."

Moving forward, though, Duke will be without sophomore forward Semi Ojeleye. ESPN reported Duke had given Ojeleye a full release, and the player is expected to transfer to another Division I school.

Duke's three starting freshmen have been huge for the program. Jahlil Okafor leads the team in scoring with 17.1 points per game, while averaging 7.6 rebounds; Justice Winslow is scoring 12.0 points per game; and Tyus Jones is averaging 10.5 points while dishing 5.8 assists per game.

Unranked Elon, meanwhile, is 5-4 after Thursday's 78-73 loss at Missouri. Despite losing, Elon coach Matt Matheny was proud of the way his squad almost rallied from a 19-point halftime deficit.

"I'm really happy with the way our team responded after halftime," Matheny told the school website, according to ESPN. "It wasn't like we were gangbusters, but we played on our toes in the second half. We had some gutsy individual performances, and I thought we really hung together as a team and put ourselves in a position to be successful, but we came up short."
