A new trailer has been released for Ready at Dawn's PlayStation 4 exclusive title "The Order: 1886."
In the clip, simply titled "Join the London Police," we listen to a recruitment advertisement for the London police that encourages men to join the force...then the camera slowly pulls back to reveal that the police station has been attacked and is riddled with bloody corpses of slain officers.
One body is pulled back, off-camera, by a creature of some horrible sort which players will presumably have to fight once they get their hands on the game. Of course, you don't play as a police officer in the game, but rather as a member of "The Order of the Knights of the Round Table" which, in this alternative universe, truly existed and survived into the industrial/Victorian age.
The trailer gives off a creepy, uneasy vibe overall and evokes, at least to me, a very "Bioshock"-esque feel....and it's never a bad thing to emulate anything that classic title did.
Additional trailers for the third-person, cover-based shooter (think a steampunk "Gears of War" in terms of overall gameplay mechanics) were released at "The Game Awards 2014" and the PlayStation Experience earlier this month.
"The Order: 1886" will be released exclusively for the Sony console on Feb. 20, 2015. Take a gander at the trailer below:
