ESPN released its most recent power rankings of the nation's top men's college basketball teams. The Kentucky Wildcats (11-0) remain the No. 1 team after a dominant win over North Carolina this weekend. Sure, losing Alex Poythress for the season due to a torn ACL hurts. But if Kentucky's 49-point first half is any indication, they'll be just fine.
Duke (9-0), Arizona (10-0), Louisville (9-0) and Wisconsin (10-1) all remain unchanged in their vaulted positions as top five teams. The Blue Devils star (and likely No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft) Jahlil Okafor looks better and better every time we see him.
But the real story in college basketball this week is Notre Dame, who climbed into the rankings for the first time this season and nestled in at No. 20 overall.
"The Fighting Irish get good shots and then make them," ESPN's NCAAM Basketball committee wrote. "Notre Dame leads the nation in field goal percentage (55.7), which helps translate into the seventh-best scoring (84.9 PPG)."
Butler endured the biggest drop of the remaining ranked teams, falling seven spots to No. 23. A 12-point loss to the unranked Tennessee Volunteers will do that to you.
Overall, the top ten teams from last week remained the same, albeit in a slightly different order. Villanova (10-0) rose one spot to No. 7, while Gonzaga's (10-1) overtime loss to Arizona dropped them to No. 8.
