Georgia Man Charged In 4 Killings Could Have More Victims, Police Say

A suspected serial killer has been charged in the deaths of four people, but there could be more, Georgia police said Tuesday.

Aeman Lovel Presley, 34, is accused of fatally shooting two homeless men as they slept in downtown Atlanta in November, Reuters reported. He was charged with their deaths last Friday, along with the death of a woman who was shot and killed outside a restaurant less than two weeks ago.

On Tuesday DeKalb County police added another murder count for the September death of a man he allegedly gunned down that was sleeping outside an Atlanta shopping center, Reuters reported.

Police said the suspect, who reportedly has a history of violent acts, has so far confessed to killing one victim, 44-year-old Karen Pearce, whom he allegedly killed on Dec. 6 as she was walking to her car after dinner at a restaurant in Decatur. Her body was found behind a parking garage, WXIA reported.

Investigators are looking into Presley's history to see if he is connected to any other murders.

On Nov. 23, police believe Presley shot 42-year-old Dorian Jenkins and left him wrapped in a blanket on an Atlanta sidewalk, Reuters reported. Another homeless man, Tommy Mims, was found dead three days later also wrapped in a blanket on a different Atlanta sidewalk.

The man Presley allegedly killed on Sept. 29, Calvin Gholston, was not homeless-- the 53-year-old was schizophrenic and would sometimes stop taking his meds and slept in an empty store at a strip mall, WXIA reported.

According to Gholston's family, police told them Presley used the same gun he used on his other victims to kill Gholston.

"This guy, from what the police told us- this man knew every bus route, he knew the train schedules, he knew what time the place closed, so he preyed on him," Cedric Gholston, the victim's brother, told the station. "This guy preyed on him, and he probably did the same thing to the other victims."

Public transportation authorities arrested Presley last week when he tried jumping a fare, WXIA reported. Police said Presley was "visibly nervous" and was carrying ammo and a loaded revolver.
