iPad fans will be happy to hear that Foursquare is finally making its app available on the popular Apple device.
The Foursquare team wrote in a blog post that the move is based on feedback they received from iPad owners saying they want a version of Foursquare that they can use to do their planning, according to PC Magazine.
"Today, that version is ready," the New York-based company said.
The launch follows several months after Foursquare decided to provide two services instead of one, the first being its new Swarm app for check-ins, and the second being the main app that serves as a discovery service.
iPad owners will be treated with a magazine-layout of photos of restaurants, bars and other places to go to over the weekend, The Verge reported. Popular spots of the week will appear in the main feed for users to choose from when thinking of the best place to go get breakfast or drinks.
The app will also learn what the user likes and will provide options for different interests, such as drinks, bookstores, or vegan food, based on past ratings as well as picks from friends, PC Magazine reported. A new section shows the best spots to go to in whatever area you're in at the moment.
Foursquare says the new iPad app is the "best way to plan your holiday travels," and that it will also suggest the best places to travel to, "from must-see sights to hidden gems in most of the largest cities and neighborhoods around the world."
iPad owners can download the new Foursquare app now for free at the App Store.
