Meteorologist Shot Outside Television Station In Texas

A television meteorologist was shot numerous times in front of the local station where he works, according TV Week.

Patrick Crawford, 35, was shot outside Central Texas station KCEN-TV early on Wednesday and is said to be in stable condition after undergoing surgery.

"The shooter, as of this note, has not been caught. We do not know who the shooter was or if he is connected in any way to KCEN or its employees," a story on the incident reports.

An update added that police had identified a suspect and taken him into custody, but did not say if he was the shooter or not. He is described as a "person of interest" in the report.

It is reported that the suspect, a white male in his 30s, exchanged words with Crawford before pulling out a gun and shooting him more than once, Fox News reported. A motive has not yet been determined.

After being shot, Crawford drove away from the scene and up to construction workers who then called 911. About 12 shells were found at the scene, but Crawford was allegedly hit two times - in the abdomen and shoulder.

Schools in the immediate district were on lockdown during the hunt for the shooter and employees of the station weren't allowed to leave until evening.
