A child is under observation to completely rule out Ebola in a Chicago hospital after he arrived with a fever, Reuters reported on Friday.
O'Hare International Airport arrivals have been screened by Federal agents, who found the boy's fever, but no other symptoms of the disease have been reported, according to the University of Chicago Medical Center.
The child has been isolated in strict quarantine protocols and will be released once his condition improves and he has a confirmed diagnosis, but the patient is said to be in stable condition.
"We have absolute confidence in this team's ability to safely care for this patient," the statement said.
Due to privacy laws, no other information was released besides that the child was in stable condition. New information is expected to be released later on Friday, ABC 7 Chicago reported.
Schedules at the medical center and operating room have not been affected by the patient. Chicago hasn't had any confirmed cases of Ebola and officials said there is no risk to the public.
