Are Carrie Bradshaw and Mr. Big getting a divorce? Not exactly.
Sarah Jessica Parker may return to HBO in a new half-hour comedy about a "very, very long divorce" (just not with Big), according to Deadline. The "Sex and the City" star is nearing a deal to play half of the plagued couple.
According to Vanity Fair, "the sitcom tells the classic tale of a once-happy middle-aged woman (Parker) who is inspired by her recently single friends to bring up the idea of divorce with her husband. While she dithers... while deciding whether or not to go through with it, her husband discovers the affair she's been having and calls the marriage off."
The show would film in New York where Parker lives with her husband Matthew Broderick and their three children. She would also serve as an executive producer on the project alongside the pilot script's screenwriter Sharon Horgan and Paul Simms, who has worked with Lena Dunham to create "Girls" on HBO.
Parker starred as the relationship columnist Bradshaw for six seasons on "Sex and the City." She also reprised the role in two big-screen movies.
The 49-year-old actress and her "SATC" co-star Kristin Davis fueled rumors of a third movie back in October. The two exchanged a series of tweets that had fans buzzing.
Parker's last TV gig came on "Glee" as an executive editor of Vogue.com. She will next star in the film "All Roads Lead to Rome."
