LG Unveils Music Flow Wi-Fi Speakers, Set for 2015 Release

LG is adding the Music Flow Wi-Fi series to its line of home audio devices to provide people with a new music-listening experience.

The new lineup comes with the H4 Portable wireless speaker, which is LG's first, two new Wi-Fi sound bars and a 3-D streaming Blu-ray player, according to TechRadar. The H4 Portable has a built-in battery and will play your favorite songs even if you have to leave the room, and the two sound bars include the HS7 that provides smooth HD sound and the HS9 that provides "deep acoustics."

The LINE messaging app will allow owners to use their phones to control the speaker through texts. The system will be able to play music automatically when the speaker is within a foot radius of a Music Flow Wi-Fi speaker.

The sound bar and speakers can be combined to offer surround sound, and Music Flow devices can expand the speaker's network range to create a mesh network, PC Magazine reported.

With the Music Flow iOS and Android apps, users will be able to access locally stored music and media from Spotify, Napster, iHeartRadio and other streaming devices. The speakers enable CD and USB media playback from those devices since they are backwards-compatible with the Blu-ray player and LAB550W SoundPlate.

Music Flow Wi-Fi will have several wireless audio systems to compete with in providing cordless multi-room music, such as Sonos, Play-Fi and Samsung Shape, PC Magazine reported.

LG has yet to reveal the price of the Music Flow Wi-Fi line, but the company plans on shipping the devices starting in early 2015.
