Rumors about Apple and its iPhones have resumed, with the latest claiming that the tech giant will release a miniature version of its iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus for those who find these devices too big for their hands.
The speculation centers around a letter sent to investors by Cowen and Company analyst Timothy Accuri, who said Apple might be working on three new versions of the iPhone to release in 2015, according to PC Magazine. These three models are a 4.7-inch iPhone 6s, a 5.5-inch iPhone 6s Plus and a 4-inch model called the iPhone 6s mini.
Accuri added that the 6s mini will have similar features as the iPhone 5s, but that it will also have curved screen edges like those of the iPhone 6, as well as some "purpose-built low cost components."
The new 4-inch iPhone, if the report is true, has the potential to replace the iPhone 5c, one of Apple's cheaper smartphones, Apple Insider reported.
Accuri's track record with Apple rumors hasn't been too consistent, having correctly predicted several details about the iPhone 6 in January 2014, while incorrectly claiming the iPhone 6 Plus's processor would be more powerful than that of the iPhone 6.
The new iPhones are not the only rumored devices for next year. Accuri also claimed Apple will release between 15 million and 20 million units of a larger 12.9-inch iPad model in the spring of 2015.
